I’m really proud to introduce my new business website, Alexandra Kiely – Writer to the Arts.
I’ve been a freelance art historian since I graduated from college four years ago, but I hope that starting my website will allow me to even further establish myself. I specialize in research and writing projects, as well as related services such as copyediting, cataloging, transcription of historic documents, and social media. My projects are developed to suit unique users and available on an as-needed basis. My clients typically include individuals and small businesses, such as artists, collectors, appraisers, researchers, auction houses, art galleries, and dealers in fine arts, antiques, history, and collectibles. Hiring me to take care of writing and research projects allows busy art professionals to focus on everything else.
In the past few years, I have written articles for email newsletters; transcribed antique letters and journals; researched various aspects of new or potential acquisitions; copyedited catalogues; provided supplementary material to accompany appraisals; written detailed descriptions of offerings for websites, catalogues, and eBay; sorted, catalogued, and tagged photographic records of collections; written about contemporary artists to promote their gallery shows; and attended numerous fairs and antiques shows.
While I have certainly enjoyed all the work I’ve done so far, I hope that my new website will help me find additional different and interesting projects with customers all over the world.
